U S air cavalrymen beat off a five hour attack by 509 North Vietnamese at an American artillery base 43 miles northwest of Saigon. Helicopter gunships fighter bombers and artillery aided the defense. one helicopter was shot down and the unit sustained two killed and 15 wounded. A later battlefield sweep found three enemy dead.
