CHICAGO Feb 1 W R Miss Sadie Holland of Detroit who recently had an operation to straighten bow legs is in serious condition after gangrene set in leading to amputation of both legs. Brother Joseph Holland said a plastic surgeon performed the initial procedure and Dr William Van Doren was called in when gangrene appeared. Amputations were done by Dr Paul Magnuson in conference with Van Doren. The brother said the surgeon suggested splitting the big bone in each leg with an electric saw to straighten the leg.
