FHA inspectors tour Bend area housing sites in Middleport
A Federal Housing Authority representative and an agent from a national insurer surveyed several Middleport and Pomeroy sites for Bend housing projects. Mayor Russell and the Chamber of Commerce hosted the visit, with landowners and local officials discussing land use, costs, and potential funding. Duerr, owner of the Seee site, said 69 of 88 acres could be usable, with 12 to 14 cleared, and potential grants of about 85 percent of project value if homes are approved. The group planned a follow up in two weeks to discuss next steps.
