Avowed killer returns home amid travel restriction clash

Raynbert J. Albert, who confessed to a killing that police say never occurred, is back with his family in Lakewood. Albert denies the crime and claims a false identity as Donald Mack. Plane Lands On Turnpike Near Toledo

James Hart of Toledo landed a two place private airplane on the Ohio Turnpike due to engine trouble while approaching Toledo Municipal Airport. He will not be charged because the landing was forced. The plane was towed away after about 45 minutes with traffic unaffected.

Columbus Cop Shoots Fleeing Youth 16

A Columbus patrolman shot a 16 year old boy who fled a stolen car Sunday. The wounded youth was in fair condition at a hospital. Patrolman Francis Shalosky said the boy hid in bushes and ran again when approached with handcuffs. He fired after ordering the boy to stop.

Eisenhower budget aims near 74 billion dollars in 1959

The Eisenhower administration plans a fiscal 1959 budget totaling about 73 to 74 billion dollars. Two Die in Columbus Crash Victim Dies in U S 23 Collision

Injuries from Thursday's two car crash on U S 23 near Portsmouth proved fatal in Columbus. Katie Eutler, 11, of Wakefield died Sunday. Harold Currence, driver of the other car, was killed and his 8 month old daughter Paula was critically hurt.

Decatur youths launch three foot rocket to 4800 feet

Four Decatur youths hoping to become rocket engineers fired a three foot rocket that vanished from view. They estimated the eight pound missile reached a height of about 4800 feet, testing local youths with an ambitious launch.
