Los Angeles December 30 District Attorney Asa Keyes announced a grand jury investigation into the youthful criminal band led by Edward Hickman as the list of alleged crimes grew. Murder charges against Hickman and Welby Hunt 16 were being drawn over the Ivy Thoms drugstore holdup and slaying. Autopsy surgeon Frank Webb found Thoms was killed by a .38 caliber bullet, while Hickman admitted the holdup using a .35 pistol and Hunt a .32.

Shooting After Hunt Injures Coolville Man
Ralph Hawk of Coolville suffered the loss of two toes and a badly lacerated leg after Emmet Blair, also of Coolville, allegedly shot him during a fight while hunting.
