Seabiscuit to Run in Santa Anita Classic
Seabiscuit, the 1938 champion, will skip two Florida $50,000 races and a potential War Admiral match to run the $100,000 Santa Anita Handicap on March 4. The decision ends hopes for a meeting with War Admiral in Florida and limits a possible Widener Cup showdown. Seabiscuit has earned $340,480 and needs $36,264 to tie Sun Beau’s record.
