Frank Kelly appeared before Squire J. W. Jones at Glouster on Friday charged with perjury after a preliminary trial set a $200 bond for grand jury appearance. The Presbyterian ladies held a social and bazaar at the city hall on Thursday evening. A large display of women handiwork was sold with a supper for ten cents. The Athens Military Band provided music, George Willsbury of Marietta performed, and Misses Florence Craig and Mabel Wickham gave recitations. The event cleared over fifty dollars for church treasuries.

A New Druggist at the Athens State Hospital
Charles Switzer, youngest son of Sheriff W H Switzer of Gallipolis, was appointed druggist of the Athens State Hospital on Monday. The appointment came at the solicitation of H Johnson, a board trustee. Switzer is praised as a polite intelligent youth with a bright future and is noted as one of the youngest pharmacists in a state institution in Ohio. He left Gallipolis Tuesday aboard KK M with many friends to wish him success.
