Oxygen Given Three Times to Local Man
Ralph Watkins, 61, of 410 West Union Street, received oxygen three times Friday morning from the city fire department emergency squad as he had trouble breathing. He was first treated at 2:10 a.m. en route to Sheltering Arms Hospital, then again at 3:15 a.m. and 3:50 a.m. After the second treatment he was taken home.

Athens Man Hurt In Car Truck Crash
A 22 year old Athens Route 5 man was injured Thursday afternoon in a head on car truck crash at W Union and Depot Streets. Carl Elvin McPherson suffered possible internal injuries and head trauma. he was unconscious when removed to Sheltering Arms Hospital and later taken to St Joseph Hospital in Parkersburg. The truck driver James Dearth 35 Nelsonville stated he tried to avoid the collision. McPherson was charged with reckless operation.
