The Reverend John O of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church announces a midnight Mass of the Angels on Christmas Eve with traditional music before the service. A Christmas Day Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. at Point Pleasant.
James D. Long, 54, Huntington, cited for failure to keep right of center after his vehicle collided with a car driven by William E. Newman, 54, Ashton, six miles south of Point Pleasant on Route 2. Damage totaled $600.
The Mason County circuit court January term docket is set with grand jury duty starting January 6 and petit jury on January 20. The docket lists the State vs. Jerry Lewis Borrer for murder and numerous criminal and civil actions including forgery, breaking and entering, and various civil suits.

Gallia County sheriff's deputies investigated three weekend accidents with no injuries but substantial property damage. A 16 year old Point Pleasant driver lost control on Route 62 near Point Pleasant, demolishing his father's car. A 29 year old Point Pleasant driver slid on ice on Route 35 near Leon and hit an embankment causing $500 damage. A West Columbia man was charged with failure to control after wrecking on Route 62 near the Mel Clark farm, totaling his car and tearing down a fence.
