Ohio House committee approves remap plan for 20 districts
The House State Government Committee backed a 16-2 compromise redistricting proposal to keep 7 Democrat held seats and 16 of 17 Republican seats. The plan reassigns Rep. Jackson Betts from the 8th District into the 4th, lowers Ohio’s total seats to 23, and sets a likely floor vote for Jan. 5. The new map covers districts across Hamilton, Montgomery, Clark, Lucas, Cuyahoga, and other counties with multiple counties and townships described for each district.
