Heath United Methodist Church in Middleport hosts The Coming of the King a cantata for Advent and Christmas on Sunday at 3 p.m. Directed by Ben Philson with Newman Burdette as organist Dudley wrote the cantata.
MIDDLEPORT The annual Christmas Party and gift exchange of the Drew Webster Auxiliary Past Presidents was hosted by Mrs Ben Neutzling. Prize winners included Pearl Knapp and Fredie Houdashelt for most games, Gladys Cummings for fewest, and Leona Smith for the door prize. Twelve members and two guests attended Ruth Powell and Fredie Houdashelt. Mrs Ellen Couch chaired a brief meeting and read A Christmas Prayer.

Gallia and Meigs County advisory committees of the combined Community Action Agency elected officers at the Cheshire CAA Center. Meigs members selected Carl Qualls H E Shields and Leatha Proffitt with Lavina Swisher as Meigs president. Meigs also re elected Virginia Fisher and Hugh Custer with a third appointee to come. Gallia chosen Lavina Swisher Grace Thomas Pauline Rife and Albert R Durose with Lee Rose and James Howard re elected.
