The Senate judiciary committee endorsed state monopoly of package sales while dodging the glass sales issue for hotels restaurants and clubs. The measure faces further Senate action today amid opposition to glass sales.
Owen M Martin who died last night at his home in The Plains will be laid to rest at Nazrene Church with services at 3 o'clock Thursday afternoon conducted by Rev Fitch.

He has served in the National Labor Board and acted as secretary of the board in Cleveland.
White House officials said Roosevelt and Navy Treasury and Coast Guard leaders are studying merging the Coast Guard into the Navy as a corps. The change would place it like the Marine Corps and save costs while accommodating Naval Academy graduates.

Washington December 20 Congress will appropriate any sum needed to finance the Civil Works Administration through spring. House leaders said there will be little opposition to supplying enough funds to keep about 4,000,000 workers on the CWA payroll. President Roosevelt signed an executive order extending the Reemployment Agreement for industry for four months beyond January 1. Speaker Rainey and Majority Burns predicted no major opposition.
Ohio farmers in 38 counties collected 725,78 dollars in two payments under the Agricultural Adjustment Administration wheat reduction plan. 19,272 farmers received the first of two payments for a 15 percent seedage cut. Ohio leads the 48 states in rapid program progress. Adjutant General Henderson said Toledo workers leaving jobs for CWA work were under review with no basis found so far.
