Athens County March of Dimes poster child story
Eric Gene French, born with a severe birth defect, has become the 1974 Athens County March of Dimes poster child. He uses crutches and a shunt to manage his condition, and his progress underscores the campaign's goal to fund research and aid local families. Funds support national research and local programs, with 60 percent to national efforts and 40 percent staying in Athens County. The Mothers' March runs January 16 to 23, with a WOUB radiothon January 22.
