Blood drive nets 120 pints for Ruth Kingery relief
Gallia County Red Cross held a Huntington regional bloodmobile visit at Grace Methodist Church drawing 136 donors who gave 120 pints for Ruth Kingery 16. The event saw 28 first time donors and 16 deferred by medical staff while 110 replacement pints were donated for friends or relatives.

Rio Grande College students and faculty depart for Christmas vacation and will return January 4. Administrative staff remain until noon December 24 to keep offices running, return at 8 a.m. December 28, then depart again at noon December 31 for New Year’s vacation.

Circles Hold Christmas Party for Lakin State Hospital
Miriam Priscilla Circles of Trinity Methodist Church met for a Christmas party and packed gifts for Lakin State Hospital. Canned goods and items for families were donated. Hostesses were Kayser Shinn Raike and Holstein. Mrs Fruth led the program. Cpl Martine of the State Highway Patrol gave a safety talk and showed Wheels of Tragedy to 60 Rio Grande College students highlighting highway dangers.

Free X rays and diabetes tests reach Gallia County crowds
After three days of screening 1747 Gallia countians received free chest X rays and 1567 took diabetes tests in Gallipolis and county locations. The program is led by state and local health groups with two mobile units operating, though a X ray cruiser broke down delaying Crown City stops.
