Nelsonville Ohio inspectors and coal operators are credited with making the state strip mine law highly successful. Director Robert W. Teater says the law is adaptable to the federal bill, may require changes to permits and data, and could raise inspector classifications to curb federal job shifts. Teater notes strong reclamation focus and cites licenses revoked for noncompliance as evidence of firm enforcement. He also toured a reclamation site near Buchtel on Vic Oakley land now to be used for grazing after restoration.
