Ohio begins mailing withholding tax forms to employers

The Ohio Department of Taxation starts sending withholding instructions and tables to major employers as it moves toward collecting state personal income tax. Initial 4,000 forms reach the largest firms, with 400,000 more mailed by Monday. corporation tax forms follow in January. Registration cards accompany the tables. The bill, awaiting final passage, imposes a 10 percent property tax rollback on real estate owners, including utilities.

Ohio Voters Reject Most School Levies in Tuesday Ballots

About 70 percent of school levy requests were defeated in Ohio special elections. Indian Creek Local District in Jefferson County approved a 5.5 mill levy 3596 to 3384, and South Central Local School District in Huron County approved a 10 mill package 645 to 542, averting shutdowns.
