Flood control plan cites pumps and drains for Nelsonville
A Browne and Associates flood study proposes small storm drains feeding two lift stations to pump water into the river and seal large outlets to prevent backflow. Two new lift sites are planned at Fulton Canal and near Watkins Street with existing pumps repurposed. Project cost estimates total 124 500 dollars with 61 900 for lift stations and 62 600 for drains. A dike option may be studied and residents can review reports with ward councilmen.
