New York salesman Barry Fine loses about 60000 dollars in unset diamonds after two men rob him at gunpoint in Chicago Loop. He had arrived from the West to meet jeweler Franklin Meyers and was abducted to a waiting car before being dumped near a police station.
Charles Wesley Hill known as Gabe in The Green Pastures died recently and his funeral service drew more than 2,000 attendees at a brownstone church in Har- lem. His body was to be interred at Mount Olivet Cemetery awaiting the trumpet call.

John A. Elden state commander of the American Legion and George W. Lawrence editor of The Legion News suffered injuries when horses fell during a ride to inform Governor Cooper of a statewide membership drive. Elden had a fractured arm and cuts. Lawrence suffered three broken ribs a broken collar bone and head injuries. Both treated at Grant Hospital.

Helen Hidinger 21 was to wed Earl Penna but was shot by her mother Genia Prowant 48 who then killed herself. The bride’s bouquet became her funeral piece as the Christmas week wedding was postponed. Edward Prowant suggested the advance of the wedding date may have driven his wife to temporary derangement.
Jessie Ligertwood 27 of Hollywood walked into Emergency Hospital Culver City Calif claiming injuries from a night plane crash. Thirty minutes later she died from a skull fracture caused by a high tension wire during the failed landing. Frank Bush of Hollywood suffered minor bruises.
Detroit officials jailed three men for alleged tampering with grand jury witnesses in the Jerry Buckley murder probe. Prosecutor Harry S. Toy ordered the arrests as part of the ongoing investigation.
A holiday gathering for Edward Cromar was interrupted after an argument over a girl guest led to Cromar and 22 year old John Blasko being stabbed. Police described the incident as a disorderly melee with two victims stabbed early today in Cleveland.

Tommy Denham an 18 year old from Tulsa Oklahoma was found invalidly in the baggage compartment of a Transcontinental and Western Air Lines plane after it landed in Columbus Ohio from Tulsa. He said he planned to stow away only to reach St Louis where relatives awaited but the plane did not stop. He was cold and cramped but was to be returned to Collinsville Oklahoma.
Theatrical producer Daniel Frohman 77, president of the Actors' Fund of America, is reportedly progressing satisfactorily after emergency surgery at Park East Hospital. He was struck by a taxicab while en route to an afternoon literary tea hosted by author Fannie Hurst.

Senator Wagner of New York proposed a plan to spur private industry creation of unemployment reserve funds to aid workers in downturns. He would exempt earnings from these funds from income tax, arguing it would provide income to wage earners during unemployment and reduce overall unemployment similar to workers compensation laws reducing accidents.
In Los Angeles on December 15 Mary Wilmer, secretary to Gilbert Beesemyer, said everyone in the office knew of his defalcations and his confession to embezzling eight million dollars from the Guardian Building and Loan.
