Hocking County deputies report two weekend accidents causing major damage to guard rails and fences. James T. Lavender 40 faced drunken driving charges after his car left Route 328 and struck fences, suffering a minor nose injury. Letha M. Iles 17 of Logan was cited for excessive speed after crashing into guard post rails on Lake Logan Road.

Patrol cites woman after car wreck on rural road
Dorothy Bell Bittner 47 Logan Route 3 was cited for conditional speed after a Sunday accident on County Road 25 west of Route 33. She lost control after turning off Route 33 and went over an embankment, according to the State Highway Patrol.

Motorist Is Fined for DWI in Nelsonville
Gilbert Davis, 31, of Nelsonville Rt. 1, arrested at 3 a.m. Sunday for driving while intoxicated. He pleaded guilty before Mayor William Hoffman, fined 150 dollars plus costs, and sentenced to three days in city jail.

Youth Loses License For Second Offense In Hocking County
Lancaster youth William L. Jackson, 20, was fined 60 dollars and costs, with 60 days driving suspension and a suspended five day jail term after a second offense in Hocking County Court. He had earlier been cited Nov 21 for speeding and a prior 100 mph in a 50 mph zone. Four other drivers were fined and two bonds forfeited. Also noted is the Murray City Ladies Auxiliary Christmas party at American Legion Post 420 at 7:30 p.m. with a gift exchange.
