School superintendents protest proposed bus funding cut
Athens County schools superintendent F. J. Taylor joined a Southeastern Ohio group protesting a state plan to reduce transportation funds for bus contracts. The committee, from 22 counties, warned cuts could bankrupt districts if contracts are fulfilled with local funds. They urged delaying any action until next school year and cited inspections that found buses failing eight or more points.
