A university graduate described the theft as an adventure robbed a Texas bank. The woman held a cashier in a vault and escaped with 1002 dollars. Police identified the suspect as an honor graduate and ongoing investigation continued.
Rebecca Bradley 22 a UT honor graduate and governor elects office stenographer admitted to bank robbery at Farmers National Bank of Buda. She claimed the act was an adventure as authorities traced her route from Round Rock to Buda with a $1,000 haul and a jailed cashier.
A Senate sub committee in Washington opened an inquiry into a bribery charge against Senator Arthur R. Gould of Maine. The probe follows a Canadian civil suit claiming Gould paid $100,000 to aid J. K. Fleming’s presidential campaign. Senator Thomas J. Walsh of Montana was summoned to present information.
Geneva dispatch reports that military control of Germany will pass from Allied forces to the League of Nations on January 31, 1927. The inter allied military commission will cease, and the League will oversee Germany’s enforcement of Versailles terms, a move hailed as a triumph for German Foreign Minister Gustav Stresemann.
Swarthmore, Pa., Dec 13. Thirty two more American college students will enter Oxford University in October 1927 as Rhodes scholars. They will receive 23000 dollars a year for expenses and have freedom to study whatever they desire at the famed English university.
Reverend Crissman of Highland Park Presbyterian church addressed Ford workers, denouncing a five day week as a humanitarian moral issue and warning it could lead to social problems from Friday night to Monday morning. He argued workers may turn to gambling and vice if adopted countrywide.

District Attorney Bernsteen vows a broad investigation into grafting justices and says more crooked courts are likely exposed.
The senate committee investigating a 14 year old bribery charge against Republican Senator Arthur Gould of Maine adjourned until January 4 to allow official documents from Maine to be brought to Washington for the case.
A cold wave sweeping southeast from Alaska will hit the Midwest today with strong northwest winds. The United States weather bureau predicts snow in some sections and rain before it, with Missouri and Indiana likely to see the change.
Pittsburgh dispatch reports Harry J. Davenport 68 chief of Westenhouse Airbrake police and Wilderding constable gunned down at his home at midnight. A shotgun lay nearby and a passing car is thought to have fired the fatal shot. Davenport leaves a widow and four children.

Harvey Gerhardt expressed happiness about his jail sentence after being charged with carrying concealed weapons. He told officers he planned to kill a fellow worker who had defeated him in a recent fight and then commit suicide. He confessed intentions to police.
Cleveland December 13. Gerald P. Murphy a lead investigator on the Pennsylvania Brewer conspiracy case resigned. He charged Washington officials used an undercover agent to undermine him and invalidate his testimony in the beer case.
In Warsaw Indiana on December 13 two brothers Athol Riley 23 and Samuel Riley 20 were freed on bond after being charged with attempting to commit wholesale murder by placing Paris green poison in the Mount Tabor school well. Thirteen of fifteen pupils suffered illnesses.
Chicago and New York coverage report Kenneth G. Ormiston facing extradition in the Aimee Semple McPherson case after Chicago police chief refused arrest. In New York Colonel Theodore Roosevelt calls Congress to repeal the Volstead Act and links prohibition to rising crime and law violations.
West City Illinois mayor Joe Adams was slain in the doorway of his home as two gunmen called him out. The shooting is linked to the Shelton Birger liquor feud fueling Southern Illinois gang violence. Witnesses could not identify the attackers.

Prosecutor Nye to prove the killing by strangling with a horse blanket then dumping Flowers into the river after an alleged moonshine sale meeting.
Athens police chief Herb J. Parker urged residents to buy automobile licenses early to avoid year end rush. The Athens county automobile club reported a tepid noon tally with only ten licenses issued out of eighty availables.
