New Device Aids In Nabbing Speeders
A moving radar system MR-7 is being used by the State Highway Patrol to detect speeding. The device plugs into a car’s cigarette lighter and uses a conical antenna to measure speed via Doppler principles. It reads speeds from 2,500 feet, works in all weather, and can track moving or stopped patrol cars. Local Sgt. Robert Weidner received special training on MR-7 operation.
