Mrs. Hunter Recognized For 30 Years Of Service
Clarys Hunter, traffic supervisor in the Athens office of General Telephone Co of Ohio, is honored for three decades of service. She began Oct 16 1942 with Home Telephone Co New Marshfield, moved to Athens 1955 and became supervisor 1958. The Hunters reside at 10 N High St Athens with three daughters and four grandsons. Mrs Hunter participates in Eastern Star VFW Auxiliary and the Christian Church.

Agricultural Convention Set Dec 15 in Athens
An Athens ASCS convention is scheduled for 10 a.m. December 15 at 77 E. State St. to elect the county committee overseeing ASCS farm programs for Athens County. Vacancies including chair and vice chair will be filled, with community committeemen serving as delegates. Adult Basic Education Classes At Alexander High School
Albany reports adult basic education classes are held at Alexander High School each Tuesday and Thursday evening. The program uses a mini lab with instructional materials for all grade levels from first through twelfth. For four years the center has focused on GED preparation and certificates awarded by the state upon passing GED test.
