West Virginia Ohio River Bridge Co. later became a corporation and WV took over December 26 1941. Stanley B Huntington of Gallipolis was the sole superintendent during private ownership.
A three man emergency board appointed by President Truman will hear the demand of 17 railroad unions for a union shop covering about 1,000,000 non operating railroad workers. The talks distinguish union shop from closed shop with a 60 day joining period for rail workers.
Columbus Ohio State Grange Master Byron Frederick told delegates at the 79th annual convention that natural resources government and time for experimentation have made America great. He warned current taxation threatens the American way of life and urged a changed attitude to reform it.
