Convicts Escape Ivy Bluff Prison In North Carolina
Four of sixteen Ivy Bluff escapees in North Carolina fled the prison, traveled to Rand West Virginia then Cambridge Ohio where Cambridge police captured them. Authorities across Athens Logan Nelsonville and Mason County searched for the others and roadblocks were set on Routes 17 and 35. Ringleader Charles Yank Stewart, 54, has a long crime history and was among 41 convicts remaining at the time.
