CORONADO California state attorneys general may urge legislatures to draft bills imposing a mandatory death sentence for specified crimes. Oklahoma AG Larry Derryberry, chairing a committee of 11 states, said the panel unanimously supported action to reinstate the death penalty. COLUMBUS Ohio a separate note says up to 150 municipal court judges who received raises since 1968 will be ordered to return the pay, as they were not covered by the 1968 modern courts amendment.

More than two years after the Marshall University tragedy a memorial fund of over 350000 dollars sits largely unspent in a Huntington bank. The fund intended to aid surviving relatives faces a court review of its distribution plan while costs and an administrator salary are paid from the corpus.
