Not Guilty Verdict in Gallia Firearms Charge
In Gallia County a petit jury returned a not guilty verdict after about 30 minutes in the case of Albert Snyder charged with pointing firearms at Mrs. Irene Sutton on Sept. 15, the opening day of hunting season. Snyder testified he drove by the Button home, noted he did not possess the revolver that day, and had traded for a shotgun two days earlier. The trial included testimony from eight year old Mary Sutton and noted a prior gun charge against Snyder. J. E B. Wood served as jury foreman. Iroy Smith faced a separate case for carrying concealed weapons and pled guilty. Further actions on Clint Davis forgery and related cases were not yet decided.
