Edwin E. Dunfee aged a member of the Troy Township Board of Trustees died at his home in Ireland after a cancer illness. Funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock Sunday at Coolville M. E. Church with burial in Coolville. He was survived by his wife, a son Ivory of Belpre, a daughter Faye at home, and one granddaughter.
Col and Mrs Charles A Lindbergh arrived in Bathurst Gambia after a flight from Beals Cape Verde Islands and weighed options to fly home to South America or travel by steamship.

A stubborn blaze in Earl Snyder's home at 108 East Union Street caused about $600 in damage. Fire Chief FE R Laughlin reports neighbors moved out furniture as Mr. and Mrs. Snyder fled in night clothing after smoke and flames alerted them, ceiling overheating as flames surged.
Mrs. Josephine McGowan 47 of Canton dies in Columbus after an appendicitis operation at Mt. Carmel Hospital. A delegate to the Repeal Convention and a prominent figure in national Democratic politics, she recently was named chief of the minimum wage division for women and children in the Industrial Relations Department. Funeral services will be held in Canton next Monday.

Washington reports the processing tax on field corn remains five cents a bushel rather than two cents as earlier regulations indicated. The five cent rate, approved by President Roosevelt and announced by Acting Secretary Tugwell, aims to prevent surplus stocks and a drop in farm prices.

Nelsonville report states 33 year old Father Filles will be charged with manslaughter after the fatal shooting of Margaret Green 20 during a quarrel at the Nixon home in Doanville about 1 am Thursday. Police say Filles claims she fired to frighten Green after a scuffle and another witness reports threats of force. Green dies from abdominal injury and funeral services are planned for Doanville.
