Washington authorities vow strict enforcement as hunger marchers led by Herbert Benjamin plan to descend on the Capitol area next Sunday. Police say no feeding or housing plans exist for the 2,000 unemployed marchers and DC commissioners will enforce parking and other city laws.
Paris dispatch reports France's cabinet approved a note to Washington requesting postponement of the December 1 debt payment of 10 million plus. The note will reach Washington within 48 hours as Premier Merrint reviews British guidance by telephone, with no commitment to paying now. British officials advise France not to imitate a wait-and-see debt stance.
Cleveland angry as 400 hunger marchers head from Washington back through the city. Safety Director Frank Merrick says no more offers will be extended. those stopping in Cleveland will be refused shelter or food. He notes they rejected warm quarters in public hall and wood food despite weeks of demands.
Three armed bandits boasted of machine guns and said they would kill if needed. They bound a policeman and blindfolded him at the village jail in Circleville while cutting phone lines to Washington. The plan failed when the wires to the capital were cut.
Miss Louise Bell a pretty 19 year old manicurist died at St Vincent's Hospital after a 45 caliber machine gun bullet struck her head during gang gunfire aimed at her companion Jack Kennedy a 24 year old reputed bootlegger Kennedy was shot dead at the scene on Jackson Street near the interurban station but mobsters fled.
A 142 member hunger march group from California and Colorado rested in Cincinnati before leaving Friday on Federal Route 50 in five trucks and 13 cars toward Washington D C. Police monitored the rest area as organizers anticipate 15 to 20 more join in Cincinnati. The group known as Representatives of the United Front traces its route from Los Angeles San Francisco to Denver with local unemployed committees funding travel and food. Next stop listed as Parkersburg West Virginia.
Sam Kaplan head of Local 306, called a dictator, was removed by the International Alliance of theatrical Stage Employees and Motion Picture Machine Operators as AFL officials vow to curb strong armed methods. Kaplan faced a Supreme Court suit for removal amid years of accusations of threats and armed guards.

Washington plan to restore a two cent local postage on letters delivered within the same city. Chairman Mead of the House Post Office Committee will introduce the bill. The Post Office Department favors the change and would keep three cents for out of town letters. The department believes the two cent local rate would increase revenue. Since the three cent rate began, many firms have started using messengers for delivering bills and ads.
In Chicago on December 1, Albert Hassen a 44 year old Arabian rug peddler with a taste for ears attacked his cell mate Robert McMurray while intoxicated police found him chewing McMurray's ears. Hassen told the court he mistook McMurray for an alligator and was fighting him off. The judge jailed him for several weeks hoping for safer dreams.
Hiram Mitchell and Paul Gillogly pleaded guilty to intoxication before Magistrate C. H. Porter and were fined 20 and costs, and 10 and costs respectively, and released. Sheriff Wayne Wingett had arrested them Tuesday night on Route 51 at the U.S. 51 north junction after their car left the road and tore down a wire fence.
Neenah Wisconsin December 1 1921 Pete Beisenstein attempted a solo flight in the airplane owned by Prite Stecker. The craft started moved across the field and cleared a fence as Beisenstein pulled back on the stick. He found a way to land by turning off the ignition and exited the cockpit unharmed.
Ohio Northern University announces a plan to help graduates who delayed college due to money problems. Students can enroll January 3 for instruction to complete freshman requirements across winter spring and summer quarters, advancing as if enrolled in September. Programs span Liberal Arts, Teacher Training, Physical Education, Music, Pharmacy, Law, and Engineering.
The Senate Welfare Investigating Committee met in Columbus to draft a report for the General Assembly. County Detective C J Rovahh, key figure in the Woods missing person case, lay in a local hospital in critical condition after ten days with no serious illness. doctors held only slight hopes for his recovery.
The body of James Bobe age 1 year died Tuesday was brought to Athens from Lucaaville and taken to a local funeral home. Funeral arrangements were not yet announced. He is survived by his parents Mr. and Mrs. David Bobe two sisters Mary Thelma and one brother Edward.
Houston authorities disclosed a network of vice among high school age youths with a 19 year old, Kenneth Haygood, charged with operating a disorderly house. Officials expect further Harris County Grand Jury indictments, including traffic in illegal operations on high school girls, one of whom died, and a nurse to be charged. The attorney warned of orgies resembling ancient potentates and called on parents to wake up. Haygood reportedly ran a dairy worker turned resort.
Hunger marchers bound for Washington resolve to demonstrate at Roosevelt's Warm Springs cottage. They plan meetings tonight and tomorrow, then move Saturday to Warm Springs to press for economic liberty and a guaranteed basic income aligned with human effort.
