Athens Charter Commission on agenda for September meeting
Labor Day shifts Athens city schedule with final reading of an ordinance and a charter commission item. The 7.30 pm session on September 15 precedes a 7 pm premeeting on proposed changes by Cablevision Co. Two ordinances get first readings: vacating Carnage Hill drive and renewal of water expansion notes. A sewer line contract with Baltimore & Ohio Railroad is planned. A charter study proposal asks voters to authorize a city charter commission and whether to place a charter plan on the ballot. Cablevision proposes a 48 rate increase for households with multiple TV outlets.

Athens County land transfers list with numerous grantee names
A lengthy OCR list details land transfers in Athens County, naming multiple grantees such as Gordon and Rave Verity Athens to Wilemone Ruth, Shuma Arcen Place two tots, Mary Johnson Athens, and many others. The fragmentary text references acres and parcels across towns including Athens, Nelsonville, Keatonville, and Natsonville, with various conveyance figures and recipient surnames, reflecting a broad, indexing compilation of transfers rather than a single coherent transaction. The record emphasizes property movements among individuals and families, but due to garbled OCR many names and locations are uncertain.
