London Ontario reports the definite postponement of the Sir John Carling monoplane flight to London England until tomorrow. Lieut. Terry Tully, the pilot, announced the delay.
Reports reaching Caracas indicate an unidentified plane was seen Saturday over the Orinoco Delta on the scheduled route of missing Brunswick, Georgia flyer Paul Redfern. The American minister to Caracas forwarded the message to the State Department. no indication the aircraft was Redfern's.
Buffalo August 31 Hubert Work Secretary of the Interior told the American Bar Association that oil overproduction in the United States has reached disaster proportions. Aboard the Fokker monoplane Saint Raphael carrying 63 year old Princess Lowenstein Wertheim, Captain Leslie Hamilton and Colonel Fr. Minchiff struggled to take off from Upavon Wiltshire. An east wind caused lengthy taxiing before liftoff as the plane narrowly cleared a hangar roof. It then climbed and vanished into mist toward Bath and Bristol on a nonstop flight to Ottawa.
Charles A. Levine said he would abandon his planned London to Ottawa flight if the monoplane St Raphael succeeds in beginning the first eastward attempt. He warned he would then try a new long distance endurance record with a crew of two men and a woman aboard if the St Raphael is unsuccessful.
At daybreak the Princess sister of the Earl of Mexborough arrived with Archbishop Mostyn who blessed the plane. She wears a purple leather flying suit and knee breeches and aims to become the first woman to fly the Atlantic westward with a passenger. Weather was favorable with a tail wind as Hamilton and Minchin planned the non stop flight from Windsor to Rugland.
In Matawan New Jersey on August 31 a police officer commandeered John D Rockefeller's car to chase a traffic violator with Rockefeller aboard. The chase ended when the violator was stopped. Rockefeller reportedly enjoyed the episode and rewarded the officer with five new dimes.
The Pride of Detroit arrives in Constantinople as three transatlantic planes await departure from North America for Europe. Paul Redfern remains missing while Krogh reports sighting the Caribbean. St Raphael carries Princess Lowenstein-Wertheim from Upavon to Ottawa as Old Glory sits at Roosevelt Field awaiting a window. Windsor and London routes stand by in Ontario and England respectively.
Glouster Ohio Aug 31 a large Labor Day event planned for Athens county with an ox roast feeding about 6000 people. Oral Daugherty leads the effort enlisting miners and local groups while G M Jones and Kiwanis back bread and roasting ears. Speakers include W B Wilson and John L Lewis with a full parade game and free dinner scheduled.

Four thousand dollars in currency spilled along three miles of Lehigh Valley railroad right of way near Athens when a registered mail bag fell from the Star express. The money in two 2000 dollar packages was bound for Athens National bank and Farmers National bank of Athens. The train was halted and police began recovering the notes. part was found by noon but a substantial amount remained missing.
A derailment and auto collision near Milton Center, Toledo, leaves nine family members dead including Clarence Mill his wife Glenna their 14 year old son Scott and others. The tragedy occurred when an oncoming vehicle collided with a train causing multiple fatalities. Local authorities investigated the crash and reported injuries and fatalities among the family members identified in the wreckage.
