Major OU Buildings May Be Ready In 1968
Ohio University advances two large construction projects in Athens. The new library on Park Place by Sheaf Construction Co should finish by late May with about 100 workers pouring concrete on the fourth floor. Inside work, sewer lines, and electrical systems follow as traffic impacts are limited. A convocation center home site begins late September with extensive indoor labor planned. The convocation center and a recreation arena on Richland Avenue may be finished by next June, though July or August is more probable due to recent Knowlton Construction delays from a labor strike.
