Grocer Coffman Admits Hoax Safe Burglary Probe Fails
Chester L. Coffman of Trimble County confessed details of a staged safe burglary at the McLeish Grocer after deputies found inconsistencies. Evidence showed the gloves worn, a broken front window, and the safe dial indicating no forced entry. Money reported missing was not accounted for, and Coffman led officers to a car trunk containing 760 dollars as part of the questionable tale. The Mine 25 near Glouster awaits miners returning to work following a contract dispute, with Virgil Strohmeyer announcing a District 6 meeting.
