Edward W. Harvey aged 72 died Thursday in a Columbus hospital. He leaves a widow Elizabeth Cummings Harvey and a daughter Mrs. Golden Lewis of Columbus. He is survived by three brothers Everett Carpenter Lloyd Chauncey Homer Wheeling W. Va and three sisters Minnie Stalder Anna Effler Rebecca Harvey of Logan. He worked for years at the Palmer House in Athens and later at Cherrington Hospital in Logan.
WPA administrators in Columbus have been informed by Dr. Carl Watson that they are prohibited from displaying buttons stickers or advertising a political candidate or party. The rule does not apply to project workers.
The Oyal Order of Moose supreme council announced the immediate placement of 50 English refugee children at Mooseheart Illinois. The action reflects the fraternal group's ongoing relief efforts during the wartime period.
National Committeeman Charles Sawyer to preside at Ohio state party platform convention in Columbus on September 6 and 7. Laurence Olivier and Vivien Leigh, British film figures famous in America, were married early today in Santa Barbara. Leigh, known for Scarlett O Hara, had been divorced in London from Herbert Leigh Holman who named Olivier as co respondent. Olivier had been divorced from Jill Esmond who named Leigh as co respondent. Olivier starred in Wuthering Heights Rebecca and Pride and Prejudice.
Fremont authorities investigate a death bed account from Grant Stark a paralyzed retiree who said a Route 68 crash left him unable to move and the driver fled. Stark later died in hospital and police consider possible arrests based on his testimony and subsequent medical doubts.
Pittsburgh report notes Standard Steel Spring Company of Coraopolis disclosed a new tin plate process. W F Rockwell, chairman, said the substitution for the hot dip method could stretch this year's tin supply over four years for defense needs.

Mrs. Armintha Smart aged 71 died Friday morning at her daughter Mrs. Ernest Judy’s home in New Marshfield after a yearlong illness. Surviving: three sons John and Clinton of Barberton and Clarence of New Marshfield. a sister Mrs. Elizabeth Pidcock of Athens Route 1. brothers Wallace McKee of Toledo and Jesse McKee of New Marshfield. Funeral Sunday at 2:30 p.m. in New Marshfield Methodist Church. Rev. J. H. Baughn officiating. Burial in New Marshfield Cemetery.
In Cumberland Maryland Charles H Grubb aged 74 is giving out cigars for a second time in 15 months as news arrives that his wife age 38 has given birth to a second daughter. The couple previously welcomed a daughter born in May 1939.
Ernest Laughlin, 47, of Niles, died at Warren City Hospital after a hit and run accident. Police pursue possible suspects as the investigation continues.
London reports say German bombers attacked in three waves aiming at the London area. British fighters and anti-aircraft defenses repelled the raids with some incurrences of damage in Kent and Surrey.
Washington Secretary Ickes told Representative Claypool that the National Historic Sites Board will meet next month to consider creating a national shrine at the Lancaster Ohio birthplace of General William T Sherman.
