Goodyear retires blimps introduces cigar shaped craft
The Goodyear Blimp era ends as a semi rigid cigar shaped airship replaces the aging fleet. Wingfoot One led the new line, Spirit of Innovation to be retired after replacement builds. New models feature three engines, higher speeds up to 73 mph, and quieter operation. The redesign preserves the iconic logo while offering greater maneuverability for aerial filming at sports and entertainment events.
