Washington set to report that Edward I. Fenlon of Brooklyn College testified before the Dies committee that four active Communist groups on the Brooklyn campus have made it a propaganda center. He named Followers of Stalin, Marxists or Trotskyites, American Student Union, and probably the American League for Peace and Democracy as connected with Communism and said the Teachers' Union aids Communist aims. He warned of appeals to students, laborers, unemployed, and minority groups as dissident voices grew within the committee amid disputes over alleged innocence of some accused. Davey pledges no age pension cuts in Ohio
Columbus report notes Gov. Martin L. Davey pledged there will be no general reduction in old age pensions in Ohio this year. He contrasted with earlier remarks by state finance director M. Ray Allison who predicted a horizontal cut affecting about 110,000 pensioners, possibly in September. The federal Social Security Board will hear charges against his administration on Monday to decide if federal contributions to Ohio pensioners should be withheld. The federal government has contributed 36,648,000 dollars to Ohio pensions since 1936.

Tremors Hit Eastern Cities In Four Minor Quakes
