Cleveland police report a year long feud between landlord Sanford Murphy 31 and tenant Joseph A Gangidine 25 ended in Murphy's death. Murphy was shot in the basement during a quarrel. charges against Gangidine move to the court for the final episode of the feud.
Coroner Charles N. Gaskill ruled as death by own action the drowning of 73 year old Smith Landrum an Oak Hill coal miner. Landrum’s body was found Wednesday morning at Lake Jackson.

Lizzie McVay Gilliland 84 a 1886 Ohio University graduate and former Athens resident died at her eldest daughter Ruth Eakin’s Forest Hills home near Pittsburgh. Surviving relatives include daughter Elizabeth Gilliland of New York City another daughter Ann Welch of Concord California sisters Anna Pearl McVay and E Skinner and husband Lewis M Gilliland a Salt Lake City educator who died in 1935. Funeral arrangements see body brought to Athens Route 1 Miss McVay’s residence for services in Pittsburgh.
