W G Watkins of the Cycean Steamship Co announced a new lake to England service. Seven ocean freighters will sail from Cleveland and Chicago area ports to London and Manchester, with departures every ten days through the Welland and St Lawrence route.
Westbound coast to coast air flight, M/I 28 hours, ahead of schedule at Omaha, expected to reach Cheyenne, Reno on time. Fogbound at Laramie delayed, pilot Col e reassigned to continue eastward while tests completed.

Reports from the United States Weather Bureau indicate frost in parts of Minnesota Michigan and Wisconsin. Chicago saw a low of 4 degrees at 8 am as high pressure settled over the plains and upper Mississippi valley bringing continued cool conditions and a Thursday trend toward lighter winds.

In Jerusalem O. A. Daugherty's family faced a house fire during a church revival. Neighbors reported flames consuming the residence while attendees worshiped nearby. No injuries recorded as firefighters fought the blaze.

A Tuesday night storm struck Postmaster White's farm near Albany killing the barn and its contents. After livestock were moved out by Arthur Van Dyke, lightning set the barn ablaze. Neighbors and Albany men saved the wheat stack and other outbuildings. Another nearby barn previously burned by lightning.

In Painesville Ohio on August 22 Miss Ruby Kenny of Cleveland was reported dying from injuries after a car carrying six from Mentog parks crashed into a steel bridge near Willoughby. Ralph Dow of Cleveland was killed instantly.
