Annual Sharp Reunion Held At Roadside Park
MIDDLEPORT the annual Sharp reunion was held Sunday at the Middleport Roadside Park with hosts Mr and Mrs Robert Sharp of Amanda and a 77th birthday observed for Robert Sharp who received a decorated cake. Attendees included numerous Sharp relatives from Amanda Millersport Lancaster Wheeling and Columbus. William D Bane, husband of former Karen Gregg, will graduate from Morris Harvey College and move to Memphis to enroll at Memphis State University for graduate work.

Ross Returned To Meigs Jail In Murder Case
Ralph Ross, 64, surrendered to Sheriff in Meigs County Wednesday night and is confined in Meigs jail after the Fourth District Court of Appeals overrul ed his appeal. He was sentenced to life at the Ohio Penitentiary last December for second degree murder in the shotgun slaying of his wife Charlotte, 39, at their Dorcas home last year.

Horse Pulling at Meigs Fair Draws 624 Fans
Six teams competed in each weight class at the Meigs County fair horse pulling Wednesday night drawing 624 attendees. In the under 2800 pound class Homer Storts of Frankfort Whitt and Son Piketon and Gerald Guthrie of Coolville finished first second and third. A Storts team won the 2800 to 3200 pound class with John Crouser of Elizabeth W Va second and Jess Vorhees of Rockbridge third. George Guthrie of Coolville won the over 3200 pound class with Russ Wingrove of Waverly second and Don Beaver of Grove City third. Five classes paid out prizes.

Ticket Sale For Musical Announced At Meigs County Fair
POMEROY The ticket office for the annual summer musical of the Big Bend Minstrel Association opening at the Meigs County Fair tonight will not open until 7 20 p.m. and no tickets will be available until that hour. The grandstand will be cleared around 7 p.m. after twilight harness racing. All children must have tickets. Show time is 8 15 p.m.
