Purchase of New Fire Truck Is Discussed by Pomeroy Councilmen
Pomeroy Village Council on August 19 debated how to finance a new fire pumper. A fire equipment salesman outlined options including a $6,500 truck on a shared service plan with Salisbury Chester Sutton Letart townships, with the village and townships forming a single fire company. The plan includes a portable pump for use outside the village and a large water tank, plus maintenance and insurance costs. Mayor Howell referred the matter to the Fire Committee for follow up with township trustees and noted the need to inspect problematic roads and sewer issues while addressing other local concerns.
