Board Hires More New Teachers
POINT PLEASANT The board of education met in a session that adjourned at 12 10 a m this morning during which teachers were hired transfers made a student school insurance contract approved and several other items of business conducted The board Supt S Brooks Smith Dorsey Scott assistant superintendent Charles Withers principal of Point Pleasant Senior High and Manford Blessing principal of Point Pleasant Junior High went into an executive session at 10 25 p m for 30 minutes to discuss recommended teachers The board also hired Eunice Hesson as a substitute teacher Gay C Frashier was hired as principal of Roosevelt School Janett Capehart was hired as financial secretary at Point Pleasant High School for 11 months and Francis Wedge office secretary for 10 14 months The board approved the salary of Minnie Burdette as Mason County public librarian for six months at a salary of 100 per month They granted the Mason County public library and Alan Quillin Memorial Library at New Haven 225 each The board approved the proposed Title I projects and rehired Billy Steele as director and Janie Baker Mary Van Horn Betty Mayes and Barbara Steele as secretaries Warren Keefer transportation supervisor was authorized to extend bus routes and make improvements Transfers were made for several staff and resignations accepted from two principals The student school insurance was approved at 2 50 per student with an option for 24 hour coverage at 14 per school term
