The program features exhibits, public inspection, judging, a parade, horse show, style and talent shows, livestock and poultry judging, a tractor driving contest, and square dancing with attendance by local 4 H clubs and youth groups.

Clayton R. Stanley of Hurricane Putnam County has been hired by the West Virginia Farm Bureau to serve as the organization's first regional field man. He is a 43 year old farmer, teacher and farm leader from Putnam County, born and raised in Hurricane. Athens Ohio City Council approves a bituminous paving project on West Union Street from Winfield Avenue to Court Street under state highways supervision. The city will contribute 24000 dollars, maintain the road after completion, regulate parking along sections near the Athens County Fairgrounds, and arrange utility relocations with state protections.
