Pickets at The Plains Messenger plant and at Nelsonville motel project ended after.Local 52 of the Bricklayers Masons Plasterers International Union of America reached wage agreements with Eberts Construction Co and Knowlton Construction Co. Remaining disputes involved Athens National Bank Court Street Jones Buick Oldsmobile Cadillac and two OU animal research buildings. Final wage increases had been frozen by the federal Pay Board and CISC rulings. The Messenger guaranteed payment to resume work and all press equipment deliveries were set to begin within eight weeks. A DAV meeting is scheduled in Athens.
