Two Injured In Accident On Route 62
Two people were hurt in a Route 62 collision at White Church Road seven miles north of Point Pleasant. Hower Hill 23 was treated and released for a bruised back and burn. William Young 25 remained at Pleasant Valley Hospital for tests. Shirley Huffman 18 was cited for no operator's license and Emil Huffman 17 for permitting an unlicensed person to drive. Damage estimated at $400.

Apple Grove Plant Cited for Savings Bond Support
The Treasury Minute Man flag flew over the Goodyear Tire and Rubber plant at Apple Grove as Oka Carlson received it from Thomas H. Vanderford, Charleston state director, during a noon luncheon. In 1961 Goodyear’s about 100 employees bought savings bonds via payroll deduction, surpassing the 50 percent enrollment requirement.

First Service Held At New Good Shepherd Site

Plans to organize a Mason County unit of the American Cancer Society were announced by Mrs. Jean Bardin. The first organizational meeting will be Aug. 13 at 7 30 p m in the Appalachian Power auditorium. All Mason County citizens interested in joining the fight against cancer are invited.
