Sisson Resigns. Layton Named Mason City Council Member
Mason City council accepted the resignation of councilman John Sisson and appointed Thomas E. Layton, who took the oath from Mayor Roy Harless. The meeting covered park restrooms hours, water bill collections, hydrant and meter repairs, traffic signs at Routes 2 and 33, speeding complaints, seven free garbage pickups, a tree-cut bid at Roger Hysell residence, and outside sewer service pending owner costs.

Karen Froendt was chosen queen as the 1972 Mason County Fair opened with Belva Farley as mistress of ceremony. Freendt, daughter of Mrs. Mary Froendt, is a Wahama High School graduate and will attend Glenville State College.

Meigs County senior citizens may obtain half price badges for Citizen's Day at the Meigs County Fair with a Sept Aug 10 deadline. Three Hurt In Route 35 Auto Crash Near Point Pleasant
A three car collision on Route 35 three miles south of Point Pleasant injured Emogene Patterson 27 and Karen Patterson 4 from the Patterson car and Mabel Datson 62 from the Datson vehicle. Zella Boggess 36 of Camden on Gauley was cited for failure to maintain control. State Police investigated.

Scouting Session Scheduled for Tri-State Area
