Athens Grange wins first at Athens County Fair
Athens Grange 1689 takes first with displays of canned goods jellies embroidery knitting and quilts alongside fruits vegetables and flowers. The Hungary Four banded teens from Athens High School performed, while Loch Grange Amesville and Summit placed second to fourth. 4-H booths covered sewing first aid child care and foods as Red Cross tracks illnesses and injuries with minor incidents reported. The Junior Fair Talent Fund moves to Friday after last minute changes.

S Sgt Monty Don Sayers completed recruit school at Lackland AFB with a class of 50 on July 19 and will serve as an Air Force recruiter in the New Kensington area after duty at Ernest Harmon AFB Newfoundland.
