A Athens woman and her daughter Dorothy were injured in a roadside auto crash east of Athens. The car skidded into the embankment, a collar bone and facial injuries reported, emergency aid provided by local physicians. They were taken to their home after treatment.

Len B. McCune won the Democratic nomination for mayor and C. Cornell the Republican nomination for president of City Council in Athens. Hal H. Rowland secured the Republican nomination for Fourth Ward councilman as Nelsonville and Glouster reports note heavy local interest. In Athens 772 ballots were cast with McCune gaining 156 to Bardin 66 and Cornell 392 to Hopkins 145. Rowland won all six Fourth Ward precincts while opponent Elza Graham had 582 votes.
Governor Alfred Landon ordered the state militia to seize the State Treasurer T B Boyd office after more than 600000 in forged bonds were found in treasurer vaults. Treasurer Boyd claimed Finney used bonds deposited in the treasury for a personal deal or sent forged bonds to Chicago. Finney was released on 25000 bond.
Governor George White asked the Ohio Parole Board to investigate Paul Maxin 25 of Youngstown who escaped Mansfield Reformatory and thrived in Chicago under another name If the board confirms the reports he will likely grant an unconditional pardon the governor said
