Glouster fans are promised a real game as the Reds host Fultonham’s Columbia Cement at 2 50 pm. The Cement team defeated Glouster 8 7 in 12 innings on June 28 and beat Murray City 9 0 on July 28, promising a strong matchup. Ladies get free admission at the gate.
George Deffinbaugh died Thursday morning at about 10 o clock at the home of his brother and sister in law, Mr and Mrs Henry Deffinbaugh in Glouster. He had lived in the area for nearly 50 years. Funeral services are set for Saturday at 2 PM at the Deffinbaugh home, conducted by Rev BD Browning, with burial in Glouster cemetery.
The Rev. Ray of Zanesville will preach at Calvary Baptist Church in Glouster next Sunday morning at 10 30 and evening at 7 39. Sunday School is scheduled for 9 30 a m with additional church activities noted for the day.

A blaze at the Bert Knight farm near Cheslea began in a large barn filled with new hay around 3 erbeck this morning. Four outbuildings including the barn housing 5 tons of hay and machinery were destroyed, with a poultry house and a scale shed also burned. Norwood Knight, 22, suffered burns while trying to save a car and was taken to Pomeroy for care. Livestock were hurried to safety. Insurance partially covered the loss. the fire is blamed on spontaneous combustion. The farm is noted as well equipped in the district.
Body of Ray Druhot former local high school principal who drowned while vacationing in Canada was recovered. He was noted in New Lexington reports as missing after a drowning incident during travel.
Columbus, Aug 9. George White of Marietta, former national Democratic chairman, will enter the 1930 Democratic primaries as a candidate for governor. Speaking at the Franklin County Democratic Club picnic in Olentangy Park, he disclosed he is canvassing the state for the nomination.
