Paving On Main Street Almost Done
Paving on Main Street from Fourth to Fifth is nearly finished as a 6 inch concrete base is completed. W G Lusher says the base will be lowered to permit higher curbs to prevent sidewalk flooding and two catch basins were installed on each side to drain heavy rain. The street will slope toward the curb, sidewalks will be rebuilt, and pedestrian traffic maintained during the 325 foot block renovation. Next contractors will fill low places Fifth to Sixth and apply a blacktop surface over the remainder of Main to Second.
