After civil service exams, Washington reported copying and barred the sisters, but teachers testified they naturally think alike and often give the same answers. They are appealing to the Civil Service Commission.
Athens County Board of Elections clerk David H Johnson announced Saturday is the final day to obtain an absent voter's ballot for the August primaries. Applications are accepted at the Courthouse office on West Washington Street. Presiding judges will be in the office Saturday to supply voting materials and must sign receipts under a new law. Election returns will be telephoned to the board once counted, and the office will stay open all night with three extra phones to handle calls.
